Hi. Lennie’s original design used a 2n4117 transistor and you have used a 2n3819 transistor in your updated design. Are these two transistors the same? Please explain. Thanks.

Yes, it is the same N-Channel Silicon Junction Field-Effect Transistor, but it might operate differently. I apologize that I can not explain the details clearly yet, as I haven’t built this circuit myself. We’d like to experiment with this circuit in the future.
