By Q1 use N-Channel Power Mosfet. but what is the number all right follow the size of Load or Lamp there.   1. Hi.I am trying to find a circuit to control the maximum current thru a 12vdc gear pump.
    The pump is used to circulate oil thru an oil cooler and when the oil is cool the pump draws excess current. As the oil heats up the current draw drops back to normal. I am looking for a circuit that limits the maximum current to 600mA. I have tried a cct that uses a lm317 ic but it was unsuccessful. can you help
