LC Meter based on PIC16F84A

This is one of the most accurate and simplest LC inductance / capacitance Meters that one can find, yet one that you can easily build yourself. This LC Meter allows to measure incredibly small inductances starting from 10nH to 1000nH, 1uH to 1000uH, 1mH to 100mH and capacitance from 0.1pF up to 900nF. LC Meter’s circuit uses an auto ranging system so that way you do not need to spend time selecting ranges manually. Another neat function is the “Zero Out” switch that will reset the initial inductance / capacitance, making sure that the final readings of the LC Meter are as accurate as possible.

Electronic Die with PIC16F84

Built using a PIC16F84, about 4 hours worth of code and a few bits on a breadboard. This was the first time I’ve worked with PIC’s so it was a learning exercise. I started with the ‘Hello World’ microcontroller equivalent i.e. Blinking LED, then tried the ‘Knight Rider’ sequencing LEDs, and then hacked this together. The code is written and assembled using the Microchip MPLAP IDE V5.70.

Manual Servo Control by PIC16F84

Our next program will allow you to control the direction of the servo manually via a SPDT switch (with a center-off position) connected to ports B1 and B2. Without a center-off position, you will have to use two switches. A schematic is shown in figure 3 (below).
