18V DC power supply by 7818
When i want dc regulator power supply 18V 1A.
I like this circuit because it is easy to make.
The main parts of the are the IC 7818 and the 1000uf 35V capacitors.
I used the 18VAC 1A transformer,The output of the transformer is rectified by diode 1N4007 or equivalent.
The voltage here is unregulated value 24V to 26V DC.
You must use the IC1 with a suitable heatsink.

Boosting Regulator Current for IC 78xx by MJ2955
Normally 78xx series ICs can be output currents for a maximum 1 A, or in the common usage, it is only up to 0.6A.
But we need more boost current up, how to do next?
In this increasing Regulator Current or circuit, the power transistor is used to provide most current to the load, to maintain a constant the voltage, by the little current still through the regulator IC intact.
Let’s say, I want a the 12V voltage regulator, and current output voltage at 5A, I must to use an IC No. 7812 and it can take a transistor number MJ2955 or TIP2955. The input voltage is enough I think that about 20V, which voltage drop across the transistor is approximately 8V. And it takes about 40Watt energy, which can be calculated = Vce * Ic. When is this. We need a cooling pad for Q1, which is large enough, it is very hot, may be cause damage.
If you want to add current to the IC 79xx or negative voltage, you can also easy to make, but simple NPN transistor type 2N3055 is only a number.

I begs for to advise this circuit , because use voltage regulator Ic 78XX series series.
By you can change Voltage get follow want , 5V = IC 7805 (5v voltage regulator), 6V = IC 7806, 8V = IC 7808 ,
9V = IC 7809 , 12V = IC 7812 such as. By still use PCB and other equipment as before.
To use transformer 1-2A. IC-78xx to Hold Heatsink.
