power supply 300V, 50mA + 6.3V, 3A max

This regulated power supply was built as a simplified outboard version of a PSU in my first phono stage. Replacing hexfreds with tube rectifier eliminates the need for power-on sequencing. Chassis (salvaged from a hospital laser PSU) size is 180W*240D*100H mm with a 125W double-C core power transformer and a 10H/100mA choke inside.

Tera Ohm Meter – Power Supply by ICL7650

Tera Ohm Meter - Power Supply by ICL7650

The parts list which is not in the circuit is listed below, the circuit is 15 years old so you may have problems getting the parts, but you may get some idea on high resistance measurement.
IC1 ICL7107 A/D converter 31/2 intersil maxim
IC2 ICL7650 chopper stabilized amplifier intersil maxim analog
IC3 CA3140 any opamp Texas Instruments
IC7 IC9 NE555 timer National Semiconductor
IC8 LM723 regulator National Semiconductor

the above list is from my memory, hence it may be wrong, i have forgotten this circuit, this circuit was scanned by a hp photosmart and resized and optimized by irfanview. also note the technology may be obsolete, but basic idea is still the same today.

Flyback Transformer Based high voltage generators

Flyback Transformer Based high voltage generators

Uses a 555 timer IC to generate a 720Hz triangle waveform (at pin 2 of the IC). This waveform is of about 50% duty cycle. This triangle waveform is compared to a fixed voltage with a comparator, IC2. The fixed voltage can be varied by potentiometer VR1. The output of the comparator is a 720Hz square wave of variable duty cycle. The potentiometer must be adjusted so that Q2 is near to 0% duty cycle (ie it spends the majority of the time off).
